"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence." ~Helen Keller - Author, political activist, and lecturer.
Lean IN Facebook post shares a video created by Jennifer Allyn, Diversity Strategy Leader of PwC. The video shares ways in which one can build their confidence. Self-confidence sometimes has to be built for various reasons; a new job, promotion, public speaking engagements, and in other cases starting life over from adverse living. Whatever the reason is, everyone wants to be confident in what they are doing or when trying to achieve positive outcomes and especially when having a conversation or at a meeting. Although the post seems to be generalized, everyone can benefit from the tips and examples posted.
Below is a summary of the tips and examples in this video.
1. Have a “point of view” - Your viewpoint with regards to the conversation, your view should be thoughtful and can be a question
2. “Presence” – be mindful of you verbal and non-verbal cues
3. “Practice” – with our family, friends, in a mirror or with a network of people you know
As the author said, "Building Confidence is A Process."
